It was discovered last week that the Wicomico County Board of Education continues to support obscene materials that are pervasively vulgar to be included in the classroom media center. The WCBOE has voted to approve a policy and procedure to fully open the door to such materials, even to go as far to even put protections in place to see that they remain. Their new policy also removes county taxpayers from having a say. "The process" to request removal is rigged for the house to win every time. After being notified in writing of such materials, they refuse to respond or remove the obscene materials. The WCBOE has policies that address hate and drug use, and even has a Violation of Criminal Laws Policy that addresses "Crimes of Immorality," which they exempt themselves. Ironically, these policies all contradict a book titled "The Haters" and is available to minors in every one of its high schools. The book contains obscenities, promotes drug use, and even includes beastiality (human sex with animals).
Title: The Haters Author: Jesse Andrews (He also wrote Me, Earl and the Dying Girl)
"She guided me onto my back and pulled on the bottom of my briefs and I pushed them over my knees and feet and I was completely naked and not hard at all. She straddled me and pulled her top off and her breasts flopped out and I heard them more than saw them. She reached behind herself and kind of carefully took my not hard dick into one and pretty soon I couldn't really think about anything else and pretty soon after that I was hard and she took her hand away and I heard her opening some little crinkly package and I felt her put the cool plasticky middle of the condom snugly on the front of my dick like she was shrink wrapping it and I felt her fingernails through the plastic like the legs of a crab fingernailing their way down my dick and she rose up a little and adjusted her panties and breathed harder and opened her mouth and her breath was like vegan fritters and farm animals and her eyes were dark and I saw them very clearly somehow and her hair was stiff with chlorine and itched like straw on my face. The moment she put me inside her I came."
"…smoke a bowl before a third round of pain-fucking." …"
…You waited for exactly as long as it took you to speed smoke a bowl and then she basically tortured your dick. For a really long time. She was flipping you around and putting you in all these positions and you were like, ow, wait wait wait, time out. And she was like, no timeout, no stopping,"
"there's nothing worse that knowing a guy is trying to get you to come, like he thinks your cooz is candy crush and he's trying to get three stars or some shit …wes you didn't go down on me but I think you'd be even worse at it …you'd just sit there completely still with your mouth open and hope that I would start fucking your face and you wouldn't have to do anything …actually yeah that sounds ideal...…
his finishing move is making a spaceship noise into your cooz and then asking you if he's getting an A"
In conclusion, it is up to the parents and citizens to wake up and express their concerns in writing, by calling, and showing up at school board meetings to make a public comment.
In addition to the above (should not be a substitute), you can also sign our petition. Our future is at stake. Denial, excuses, or remaining silent will not make this go away, and it's only getting worse due to your silence. It is up to you to stand up.

The Delmarva Parent Teacher Coalition was formed in response to sexually related books and instructional materials in public schools that are emotionally, mentally, and physically harmful to children, as evidenced by rising rates of depression and other psychological disorders. The content of said materials ranges from explicit to inexplicit sexual activities including but not limited to rape, incest, and hook-up dating.
We support lawful efforts to expose the obscene books and materials currently available and used in Maryland public schools. Our goal is to alert parents to the sexual content and potential harm to their children; in the process we aim to avoid exposing children to obscene content or to breaking any laws. We support the efforts of other groups advocating for change in the policy and integration of appropriate books for minors. We also support efforts to strengthen the security at all schools. We do not support trespassing or distributing materials with sexual content.
